Botany Brain Camp
This event is currently sold out.
Botany and the brain – take a tour with us to see two worlds come together!
How much do we really see in the plant world? What parts of the brain control our visual content, movement, speech, thinking, emotions, and behaviours? And how can plants and garden design help us retrieve our memories and lower our stress levels?
To celebrate Brain Awareness Week, Botany Bootcamper Dr Meg Hirst will team up with Dr Bridgette Semple and Dr Loretta Piccenna from the Department of Neuroscience at Monash University, swapping their lab coats for activewear on this garden stroll with a difference.
Using the Gardens as a brain map, Botany Brain Camp will navigate the hemispheres, lobes and cerebellum on a botanical brainstorm that connects the amazing plant world with our own magnificent brains.
Presented by Royal Botanic Gardens Victoria in partnership with Monash University (Department of Neuroscience, Central Clinical School).
