Discover how plants and animals can survive in the extreme conditions of desert environments.
Students will examine the features of Australian plants and how they enable the plants to conserve water. They will learn about the amazing adaptations of desert animals and uncover what makes Australian deserts unique.

Students will
- View a variety of plant parts under the microscope and analyse their adaptations
- Feel the temperature change in the sandpit and use thermometers to measure the temperature
- Pot up their own plant to take home
